A standout performer over the 2013 Spring Racing Carnival, trainer John Sargent has confirmed Kirramosa in the final field for the 2014 Theo Marks Stakes.

Securing a commendable total of four wins and one minor places from just nine competitive starts so far, Kirramosa won began her racing career abroad in New Zealand, winning the Fire N Ice Refrigeration Maiden (1200m) on debut in March last year before placing a credible third in the Group 1 Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) on March 30th.

Debuting in Australia for fourth in a minor over 1200m on August 21st, the Alamosa mare broke through for an impressive win in the Macka’s Sand/Soil Supplies (1200m) on September 18th before finishing a luckless fourth when blocked for a run in the final straight of the Listed Reginald Allen Quality (1400m) on September 28th.

Returning to scintillating form with a hard-fought run for second in the Inglis Bonus (1600m) on October 19th, Kirramosa ended her maiden Australian campaign with impressive back-to-back victories in the Group 2 Wakeful Stakes (2000m) and Group 1 Crown Oaks (2500m).

Returning for sixth amongst classy competition in the Group 2 Missile Stakes (1200m) on August ninth, Sargent is confident Kirramosa will be far-better for the first-up run and is expecting a polished performance in the Theo Marks Stakes.

Also confirmed in the final field for the 2014 Theo Marks Stakes is lightly-raced gelding Laser Hawk.

Stamping his claims as a serious contender from his maiden racing preparation in the spring of 2011, Laser Hawk without doubt hit career-best form over the 2012 Autumn Carnival; finishing third in both the Group 1 Randwick Guineas (1600m) and Group 1 Australian Derby (2400m) and winning the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m) most notably.

Suffering an unfortunate tendon injury during the running of the 2013 edition of the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes, the Artie Schiller gelding was forced into the paddock for nearly 18 months; returning in the Missile Stakes on August 9th.

Allocated the slightly wide barrier 7, trainer Joe Pride is confident renowned jockey Kerrin McEvoy will get the best from his sole Theo Marks Stakes entrant this weekend.

Performing to a high standard over the winter and early spring of 2013, Bull Point began his racing career under the guidance of Gai Waterhouse, but has been confirmed to contest his second race for Chris Waller in the 2014 Theo Marks Stakes.

Finishing outside the places just once in six starts over his 2013 campaign, the Fastnet Rock entire finished fourth in the Listed Rosebud (1200m) in his fourth competitive start on August 10th before finishing second in a minor over 1400m and securing arguably his most impressive  result when third in the Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) on September 14th.

Returning for a strong win in the Group 3 Manfred Stakes (1200m) on February 1st, Bull Point was unable to hit peak condition over three proceeding autumn starts; returning to the paddock after finishing seventh in the Group 3 Sebring Stakes (1200m).

Charging home to finish third in the Group 3 Show County Quality (1200m) first-up on August 23rd, Bull Point has been charged with overcoming the wide barrier 8, but will be partnered by in-form hoop Corey Brown.
