The 2011 Theo Marks Stakes form guide probably isn’t the easiest one to read at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday.
In fact with a field of 14 and a host of newly returning runners it could prove a minefield for punters and one you may need to load up on in the quaddie.
That being said the race itself is going to be a cracker and with winners seemingly coming from anywhere it’ll certainly keep you on your toes should you choose to have a dabble.
The ‘Sebring Sprint’ as it’s now known may well produce the boilover of the day at Rosehill but we’ve selected our top picks from where the winner SHOULD be coming from.
As always have a good read of the Sebring Sprint form guide and then head across to Luxbet where you can grab yourself the best odds of any bookmaker as well as a few handy sign up bonuses if you’re a new member!
2011 Theo Marks Stakes Form Guide
He’s the obvious choice on the back of his last start win in the Warwick Stakes and from barrier seven he’ll probably find a decent position for jockey Kerrin McEvoy. This horse just refuses to run a bad race and it doesn’t seem to matter what track or what the conditions are. With a career record of 24 starts for 10 wins and 11 placings if he isn’t somewhere in your exotics you’re kidding yourself.
He ran second to Pinwheel in Warwick Stakes and there’s every chance he’ll be the one taking the more improvement from that run. That makes him a big player here and from gate two Brenton Avdulla has no excuse not to come up with the run of the race.
Returns for Chris Waller after a hugely disappointing winter carnival in Brisbane and is in desperate need of a return to form. Enjoys a drop in grade here but first up who knows how well he’s ready to run.
After winning three on the trot he has every right to be a top pick especially given he’s two from two at Rosehill. Last start he only just managed to get home which is a query and he’s also never over this exact trip. He’ll run it out easy enough though and from barrier four with Corey Brown this could well be the winner.
Older Than Time
Another one running first up but after her last prep who could ignore this Waterhouse entrant. Five wins from 11 starts with another four second placings to boot. She’s a real talent and is one from one at Rosehill. She’s won over 1200m and 1400m but the issue here remains the fact that her last start was a second placing in the Sydney Cup over 3200m.
Queensland Guineas champion and a horse packing a good strike rate. He’s won five from 10 overall and when you take out a couple of starts on unsuitable ground that record starts to look even better. At his best he’s a huge player, once again though just how well will he be presented first up?
One from one at the journey and he has a bit of a liking for the Rosehill track. Another Waterhouse runner and another with a great record winning five from 11with three more placings. If the surface gets back to good he’ll love that but he has won over dead as well. He has a feather weight with Chris Munce at 52.5kgs but from barrier 10 he’ll have a bit of work to do to pull up a spot.
These are our main picks for the 2011 Sebring Sprint with why they can win but why they might not as well.
